Lucknow: The Lucknow Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl in the Mal police jurisdiction, Northern Zone.
According to police reports, on January 9, 2026, a complaint was lodged at Mal Police Station by the victim’s father against Durgesh Kanojia, son of Maikulal, resident of Antagadhi Saura village, Mal, Lucknow. The complaint alleged that Durgesh had sexually assaulted his daughter. A case (FIR No. 011/2026) under Section 64 of the BNS Act was registered, and based on further evidence, charges under the POCSO Act were added.
Acting on specific intelligence, police officers Haridas Chaurasia, Rajababu Vishwakarma, and their team apprehended the accused at Attari Chauraha, Lucknow. The accused has been taken into custody and sent to the appropriate court for legal proceedings.
